Henrik
HOST & GENERAL DAYDREAMER
Henrik talks a lot — usually about ideas, and usually about too many of them at the same time. He helps run the business, driving a tractor now and then, develops new products, and spends a suspicious amount of time trying to build better systems.
As we say in Norwegian, he is a bit like a potato: useful for many things, found almost everywhere, and not always the most elegant part of the meal — but somehow still quite important. He cares deeply about Vesterålen Apartments and Activities.
Shirley
OPERATIONS & GUIDE
Shirley is our octopus — in the best possible way. She has her hands in everything we do: bookings, guest communication, accounting, guiding, and all the small details that make a big difference.
Shirley is keeping everything moving behind the scenes. She often knows what needs to happen before anyone else has even thought about it. She is the engine room of our team: practical, warm, and organised. We also admire her for putting up with the rest of us.
Ian
LEAD GUIDE
Ian is our main guide and the driving force behind our nature-based activities. With over 20 years of guiding experience, he knows a bit about most things — and a lot about many. He is a rare mix of a Swiss Army knife and MacGyver: practical, resourceful, and able to solve almost any challenge. We truly value how he continues to teach us about the interplay of nature, wildlife, weather, and the landscape around us. His passion for nature shines through in everything he does — and his enthusiasm is contagious.
